I'm a story teller and am drawn to the details and character of interesting crafted statement pieces, vintage decor accents, stoves, patterns made with intention, precision, quality and often humor. I mix textures, period styles, love whimsical signature pieces and rough earthy handmade pottery. The details of a space create the personal voice of the story, adds the soul and signature to a room, a home and those that live there.

My collections are eclectic and curated with the love of whimsy and details, far reaching from Boho Chic bamboo plant stands to midcentury Asian Chinoiserie vanity trays, vintage beach house collectibles and modern vintage sculptural elements. It’s all about the unique details and that’s literally from alligator spreader cocktail knives to abstract framed paintings and pink velvet poufs!
I created my cottage business at the kitchen table in 1994 painting glass candleholders for holiday gifts and then ventured into retail shops and boutiques like Fred Segal, in Los Angeles and Geary’s of Beverly Hills, then moved to international trade shows in the retail gift and home industry designing and manufacturing my line of table top and decor items under the business name: The Magic Bean Company. My line and my reach grew internationally via industry outreach and marketing at the shows in NYC and others, and now I’ve mixed and shifted to be primarily vintage home decor with a flair of the handcrafted and artisan home decor accents. I sell my curated home accents and furnishings via Chairish.com and directly to the trade from the Sherman Oaks area of Los Angeles. My shop on Chairish is called Lainey, aka Laineybean Home Decor. I feel that vintage accents are so unusual, well crafted and better for the planet - not to mention fun as to the treasure hunt!
